searching for personal identity in light of national circumstance
i was searching for my compositional voice one day while pondering my cultural makeup, which happens to be very diverse. i am largely of european decent: 1/4 bulgarian, 1/8 german, 1/8 irish, 1/8 english and some scotch; i am also of native american descent by an indeterminate amount, consisting of the cherokee, choctaw, and shawnee nations. some people say that i'm only just a little bit; to that i say, 'i still am'. so, with such an ancestry in the usa, which is right? what should i really believe?
